Akyem Kotoku Royals’ Public Relations Officer, Okatakyie Afrifa, has dismissed claims that the team will engage in fixed games to end the season after being relegated from the Ghana Premier League. The debutants were relegated after a 2-0 defeat to Great Olympics, and although their remaining fixtures may be crucial, Afrifa insists that the team will play with integrity.

In their upcoming fixture, Kotoku Royals will host Asante Kotoko at Dawu Park on Sunday. For the most part, the Royals have been unable to keep up with the competition in their debut season, having only managed two wins and twelve points from their 26 games. They will face relegation-threatened Karela United and Tamale City in their remaining games.

Afrifa affirmed that Kotoku Royals will play with their hearts out as they have always done, and will not resort to any unethical practices. He noted that the team played with utmost professionalism in their recent fixture against league leaders Aduana Stars, and will continue to do so in their remaining games.

Despite the disappointment of relegation, the Royals have shown a commendable level of commitment to playing with integrity. Their resolve to finish the season on a high note is a testament to their professionalism and commitment to the sport. In a nutshell, Akyem Kotoku Royals’ journey in the Ghana Premier League may be coming to an end, but their integrity and dedication to fair play will not be tarnished.
